Great to meet you!
I help people struggling with aspects of their sexuality or gender, body image issues, relationship struggles, and challenges in a relationship. I help people with long-standing trauma (i.e., CPTSD) and emotional regulation issues (i.e., Bipolar) My approach is experiential and somatic. Queer & heterosexual couples/people are welcome. Bipolar, addiction-struggling, welcome.
I grew up in a family that prioritized independence over emotional closeness. My survival strategy was to be warm, open & playful and to be drawn towards people/relationships that demonstrated high level of emotional intimacy. I started out in the performing Arts world in New York City but fearing that being "paid" meant doing things I didn't want to do, I saw a career counsellor. She helped open my eyes to psychotherapy. I have also always been interested in women's and gender studies. My graduate degree was in Holistic Psychology, which included transpersonal and somatic psychotherapy. My love in somatics and for the somatics once done in Performing Arts never died and is brought with me to me in my practice of psychology.
