I graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Body-Centered Therapy from Appalachian State University. I also completed a postgraduate certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy. I have over a decade of clinical experience working with adolescents, young adults and families in Western North Carolina.
Everyone’s experience in therapy is different and I try to tailor the therapeutic modalities I use to the unique needs of the individual. I typically use a combination of talk therapy, humor, expressive arts, mind-body approaches, and trauma informed techniques. Therapy doesn’t have to be as formal and stuffy as it has been portrayed on TV. It can be playful. It can be fun. It can be funny.
I use a variety of integrated modalities in my practice including expressive arts, mind/ body approaches, and traditional talk therapy. I am not a believer in a one size fits all approach to the therapeutic process. We will work together to figure out what is helpful.
