Great to meet you!

Welcome - it's wonderful to meet you! I am Rebecca Marks, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a Master of Arts degree from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota since 2015 and have been working in the mental health field for over 15 years. I specialize in working with adoptees and couples and seek to make a genuine connection with you, meeting you where you're at. By providing compassionate, sensitive, and inspiring therapy sessions, together we can tackle even the toughest challenges and create breakthroughs to greater health, creativity, and joy for you in your life, no matter where you are starting at.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is simple: I use evidence-based methods, which does not necessarily mean lots of "homework", unless if you prefer that! My approach is more "hands-on" and focused on creating solutions and results. I incorporate interactive and engaging techniques that range from using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic or 5-Senses-based therapy, Experiential therapy, and The Gottman Method for couples. Above all, whichever methods I use are interchangeable and completely adjustable to what works best for you. You are in control and you are the "driver of the bus", because this is your therapy session.

What you can expect from me

I make it a point to have each session be as unique as you are. There is no one-size-fits-all therapy session with me. Like I said in the beginning, I meet you where you're at. The mood and energy of the session is directed by how you'd like it to be, and if you have a session where you need to download what is on your mind, I'm more than happy to be a sounding board and hear you through and through. Other days, you might want more direction and focus, and so then we can dig deeper into activities or dialogues that use your natural healing talents to evoke the fulfillment of what you need on that particular day. No two therapy sessions are the same, but one thing for certain is I am a consistent, reliable, and trustworthy support for you, even in your darkest hour.
