Great to meet you!

I’m Rebecca, a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland and Virginia, a board-approved social work supervisor, Brainspotting practitioner, and Reiki Master Teacher. I’ve worked in human services for well over a decade, including six years providing clinical therapy to children and adults across school, correctional, and outpatient settings. Throughout my career, I’ve supported clients with a wide range of concerns, recognizing that trauma and chronic stress often play a significant role in emotional and psychological distress. I specialize in working with clients who are curious about the mind-body connection and how the autonomic nervous system shapes our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, empowering, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I work from a survivor-informed, trauma-responsive perspective, recognizing that many emotional and psychological symptoms are adaptive nervous system responses to difficult experiences rather than signs that something is inherently wrong with you. I integrate evidence-based psychotherapy with somatic approaches like Brainspotting to help clients access the underlying patterns contributing to their concerns. Whether you’re looking to process trauma, navigate personal growth, or move through a life transition, my goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move toward the life you’re building.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity to begin building rapport and getting to know one another. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to gain from our work together, and any questions you may have about my approach. Rather than following a rigid agenda, I tailor each session to your needs, balancing structure with flexibility and moving at a pace that feels supportive for you. Whether you need space to process something immediate or simply want time to settle in, we’ll work together to determine what feels most helpful.
