Rebekah Machiela

I graduated with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2006 with an emphasis in interpersonal practice and families. I am currently licensed in Maryland as an LCSW-C (Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical) and have 17 years experience working in the psychotherapy setting as well as providing counseling in medical hospitals. I am passionate about my work with individuals just like you and appreciate everyone as having their own unique story!

You can expect me to be warm and empathetic with a compassionate and solution-focused approach. I believe you are unique and deserving of a treatment plan that is tailored for your individual needs. As appropriate, I enjoy helping clients to uncover the roots of negative thoughts, emotions, and anxieties by exploring formative past experiences and patterns in relationships.

My goal is for you to grow in self-reflection, recognition of your emotions, setting of expectations, and communication of your needs to yourself and to others. The process of therapy can be difficult, but my desire for you is grace and growth.
