Great to meet you!

My work has always been about more than therapy. As a therapist, educator, speaker, and advocate, I've spent decades creating spaces where people — especially Black men and youth — feel seen, heard, and empowered to do the real work of change.

The philosophy that guides everything I do is simple: We Heal. We Move. We Shine. We heal by acknowledging our experiences and confronting what has hurt us. We move by making intentional choices and developing healthier patterns. We shine by recognizing our value, embracing our strengths, and walking confidently in our purpose.

I'm an LPC with 60 active clients, licensed in DC, Maryland, and Georgia, trained at Coppin State University and Argosy University. I work with individuals and couples on anxiety, depression, trauma, men's issues, anger, substance use, PTSD, relationships, and the pressures that often go unaddressed. Both in-person and telehealth available.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and deeply relational — grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I bring clinical expertise, evidence-based tools, and genuine curiosity to our work, while you bring your story, your goals, and your willingness to grow.

I draw from CBT to address the thought patterns driving anxiety, depression, and anger. Psychodynamic work helps us understand the deeper roots of current behavior. Narrative Therapy helps you examine and rewrite the story you've been telling about yourself. For couples, I use Behavioral Couples Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD — approaches that move partners from simply reacting to truly understanding one another.

My approach is not about fixing you — it's about helping you feel understood, supported, challenged, and empowered to create meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about building the foundation — creating a space where you feel comfortable enough to begin sharing your story at your own pace. I recognize that beginning therapy can be both meaningful and vulnerable, particularly when discussing personal experiences with someone you've just met.

I listen not only to what you are saying, but also to the experiences and emotions behind your words. My priority is understanding your perspective without assumptions — who you are, what has shaped you, and what you want your life to look and feel like moving forward.

You will leave knowing exactly what working with me looks like. My role is to walk alongside you, help you understand where you've been, make sense of where you are, and empower you to move toward where you want to go — with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.
