Great to meet you!

I am a Brazilian American Latina, born and raised in Brazil and deeply immersed in the Hispanic and Latino cultures within the United States. This unique background allows me the privilege of navigating distinct cultures, generations, and life experiences with ease. I hold a degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore, a path I chose out of a deep desire to help my fellow humans become "more human." My clinical strengths lie in supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, grief, and the complexities of minority oppression. I find I am most effective when working with younger and older adults, as well as couples, who are ready to invest in themselves. Above all, I believe that regardless of our backgrounds, suffering is a universal human experience, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is down-to-earth, warm, and deeply empathic. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe enough to exhale, be vulnerable, and access your true essence. I believe that the most important relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself; by cultivating self-compassion and clarity, you can bring your most authentic self to your relationships and every other area of your life. I am drawn to working with people who are not afraid to look inward and embrace the "heart work" necessary for growth. My goal is not just to help you manage symptoms, but to help you bring your "better self" to light so you can live a life that feels genuinely yours.

What you can expect from me

In our first meeting, my primary goal is to provide a space of deep validation where you feel heard and understood without judgment. We will spend time exploring your story so that we can gain clarity on the challenges you are facing and how they are impacting your daily life. By the end of our conversation, we will establish a clear goal together, ensuring that our work has a focused direction that feels meaningful to you. I will also provide you with different options on how to proceed with treatment, explaining the various therapeutic tools we can use so that you feel empowered to choose the path that best fits your unique journey and pace.
