Great to meet you!

I am a graduate of Nova Southeastern University in Fort, Lauderdale, Florida. For nearly 20 years I have been working in mental health and providing mental health services in Florida, Washington, DC and Maryland. For more than 16 years I have been a licensed professional counselor and licensed clinical professional counselor in Washington, DC and Maryland. For the past the majority of my career I have provided mental health oversight and services in Maryland, DC and Florida for justice involved persons.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) however, I do utilize other evidence-based treatments to meet the needs of a client and the family. I have experience in supporting clients with a number of mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, work stress, substance abuse, adjustment issues and relationship issues etc. I believe in being direct and collaborative and use the phrase "Venting with Purpose!" to encourage change and growth and encouraging movement in the direction you desire for yourself.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to help you on your journey and to meet you where you are. I believe that therapy is hard work but with support and guidance; you don’t have to do it alone. Your first session will entail some "housekeeping" reviewing of legal and general expectations related to therapy and my style and also reviewing your history to have a clearer picture of what you need support with. So its important and a requirement that your intake paperwork is completed before your first session and then I will support you with the rest.
