Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from NC. I have 33 years of clinical experience working with those suffering from grief and loss of all kinds (death of a loved one, miscarriage, job loss, changes in health, divorce, relocations, transitions, death of a pet, complicated grief and cumulative losses). I have spent many years working with chronically and terminally ill individuals as well as Caregivers. In addition, I work with those struggling with Anxiety.

My approach to therapy

I provide supportive counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, coping skills and strategies for moving forward. I help clients understand and manage difficult emotions such as anxiety, sadness, guilt, fear and a sense of being overwhelmed. I assist clients in learning about the grief process, honoring their loved ones and achieving activities of daily living. I help clients identify the source of their anxiety, understand their triggers and learn new responses to them.

What you can expect from me

Clients will experience a safe place to express their thoughts and feelings (anxiety, guilt, fear, sadness, overwhelmed etc... ). They will participate in processing those feelings and then learn how to better manage them. They will learn about the grief process (death, divorce, miscarriage, transition, health decline, job loss, relocation, pet, cumulative loss and complicated grief). They will experience understanding, encouragement and hope to move forward in whatever issue they are struggling with.
