Great to meet you!

I’m Rhode Desauguste, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and founder of Calm Horizon Integrative Psychiatry PLLC. I have experience providing psychiatric care across a variety of settings and populations, including several years working with individuals in assisted living and skilled nursing settings, as well as outpatient and telehealth care.

I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, and other mental health challenges.

My goal is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and working toward meaningful improvements in their mental health and overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe clients should feel heard and actively involved in treatment decisions. I take time to understand not only symptoms, but also the experiences, stressors, lifestyle factors, and personal goals that may be affecting overall well-being.

I use evidence-based psychiatric treatment and medication management while incorporating a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and integrative perspective. When appropriate, I also consider areas such as sleep, nutrition, stress management, physical activity, and other lifestyle factors that may support mental health.

My goal is to develop a treatment plan that is practical, personalized, and sustainable. I value open communication and shared decision-making, and I work with each client to find an approach that supports both symptom improvement and long-term well-being.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my priority is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel heard and respected. We’ll take time to discuss what brought you to care, your current concerns, medical and psychiatric history, medications, lifestyle factors, and the goals you would like to achieve through treatment.

Together, we’ll begin developing an individualized treatment plan based on your needs and preferences. This may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, additional assessments, or referrals when appropriate. I encourage questions and shared decision-making so that you understand your options and feel actively involved in your care.

By the end of the first session, my goal is for you to have a clearer understanding of your concerns, our initial treatment recommendations, and the next steps in your care.
