Great to meet you!

Hello-My name is Richard (Rick) Lally. I graduated with a master's degree in clinical psychology from Connecticut College and have been working in behavioral health for 25 years. I also have been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina for the past 20 years. I have been able to help individuals from diverse backgrounds with a wide array of issues; depression, grief/loss, stress, anger, relationship distress to name a few. Regardless of whether your need for seeking counseling is one of these matters or something else, please reach out to me and give me the chance to see if I can offer some relief. I welcome the opportunity to meet you.

My approach to therapy

Some of the more important aspects of the therapeutic alliance are feeling like you are not being judged, you are being listened to, and you have someone on your side. Ensuring each of these are met is my pledge to you. I've been successful for quite some time due to the importance I take in serving each and every client and ensuring that your needs are met.

What you can expect from me

My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome current or future obstacles. I'm here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment. You have taken the first and most important step by reaching out for help. You are not alone. Things can and will get better. I'm really looking forward to working with you!
