Great to meet you!

In addition to what is listed above, I also specialize in Social Anxiety Disorder, I am also a Certified TEAM-CBT Therapist with the Feeling Good Institute, and in the past I was a certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS). As your counselor, I will provide you with a safe, comfortable, supportive environment where you can express yourself without judgement or shame, and with acceptance. I enjoy working with clients regardless of race/ethnicity, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.

My approach to therapy

I rely mostly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with person-centered approaches. I also help with relationship issues, learning to advocate for yourself, and setting boundaries. Sometimes it is important to look at family of origin and attachment styles. Whatever we decide to explore in therapy, keep in mind that it is always your choice. I assign homework during most sessions, and completing homework is important to reaching your goals in therapy.

What you can expect from me

For the first session, come prepared to discuss what you feel it not working in your life, as well as what would change if that were not an issue (i.e. what would a successful outcome look ilke?). Also, if you have a previous mental health diagnosis, therapy, or medications, please have that information ready. Working together we will develop your individual counseling goals and a plan to achieve those goals.
