Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for adolescents and adults. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and involved in your treatment decisions.

I have experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. I also have experience caring for individuals with complex or treatment-resistant conditions.

I believe that effective psychiatric care goes beyond prescribing medication. I take the time to understand each person's unique experiences, strengths, and goals so we can develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. When appropriate, I integrate medication management with supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles, psychoeducation, and lifestyle recommendations to help you achieve lasting improvement.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, personalized, and evidence-based. I believe the best treatment decisions are made when we work together as a team. I take time to carefully understand your symptoms, medical history, personal goals, and preferences before recommending treatment.

Every person's experience is different, so I tailor treatment to the individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Treatment may include medication, psychotherapy techniques, education about your condition, and practical strategies to improve daily functioning. Whenever possible, I strive to prescribe only the medications that are truly needed while minimizing unnecessary side effects.

My goal is not simply to reduce symptoms but to help you improve your overall quality of life, relationships, work or school performance, and sense of well-being.

What you can expect from me

During our first appointment, we'll spend time getting to know one another. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatments, family history, and the goals you hope to achieve through treatment. This thorough evaluation helps ensure we develop the most accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan.

You'll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss any concerns you have about medications, therapy, or your diagnosis. If medication is appropriate, we'll review the available options together, including the potential benefits and risks, so you can make informed decisions about your care.

My goal is for you to leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your symptoms, a personalized treatment plan, and confidence that we have a path forward together.
