Great to meet you!

I’ve been a therapist since 2012, and my style is straightforward, practical, and usually sprinkled with some humor. I’ve spent most of my career working with adult men, while also working with women from a variety of backgrounds.

I’m not big on one-size-fits-all therapy or simply asking, “How does that make you feel?” for an hour. I’d rather get to know you, figure out what’s actually getting in your way, and find solutions that fit your life.

My goal is simple: help you understand yourself better, build on what you already do well, and find practical ways to create a fuller and more successful life—while hopefully sharing a few laughs along the way.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when you can be yourself, feel comfortable, and even laugh once in a while. I use humor naturally, along with practical, solution-focused techniques, but I also like to dig a little deeper. A big part of my approach comes from existential therapy—helping you understand not only what is happening in your life, but why it keeps happening and what it means to you. I’m genuinely curious about your story, the experiences that shaped you, and the patterns you may have picked up along the way. Together, we can make sense of those things, figure out what’s still working and what isn’t, and find a path forward that feels like your own.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other and seeing if we’re a good fit. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want to say—that’s part of what we’ll work through together. I’ll want to hear a little about your story, what brought you to therapy, what’s going well, and what you’d like to be different. We’ll talk about what you hope to get out of therapy and start making sense of the “why” behind some of the things happening in your life. There may even be a little humor along the way. My goal is for you to leave that first conversation feeling comfortable, understood, and with a clearer idea of where we can go from here.
