Ro Dawkins, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides holistic mental health and wellness care to adults ages 18 to 65. She is committed to treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—by integrating evidence-based psychiatric care with a compassionate, individualized approach.
Dr. Dawkins began her career in mental health as a registered nurse in 2003 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. She later earned a Master’s in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, Master’s in Nursing from Old Dominion University and her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from Shenandoah University enhancing her understanding of human behavior, interpersonal dynamics and emotional well-being. She went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Old Dominion University, where she now serves as adjunct faculty in the master’s program, mentoring future psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Dawkins is active in international mission work, providing mental health education and nursing care in remote areas around the world. She is passionate about promoting mental wellness and understanding cultural diversity across global communities, working to reduce stigma and increase access to care in underserved populations.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Dawkins brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to mental health treatment. Her diverse educational background supports a well-rounded approach to mental health care, combining clinical expertise with a deep understanding of human behavior and interpersonal dynamics. She is passionate about empowering clients to achieve balance, resilience, and long-term wellness through personalized care and strong therapeutic partnerships.
