Great to meet you!

Welcome! I am a dual-board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of clinical experience across diverse healthcare environments. I earned my foundational nursing education at Weber State University and completed post-graduate psychiatric specialization at the University of Cincinnati. Having worked across every tier of healthcare, I bring a unique, well-rounded medical perspective to psychiatric treatment.

My practice focuses on providing direct, compassionate, evidence-based care for adults and teens navigating complex mental health conditions. I specialize in addiction medicine, substance use disorders, bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and schizophrenia/psychotic spectrum disorders. Because psychiatric wellness and physical health are deeply interconnected, my dual background allows me to evaluate and treat the whole person, ensuring safe, tailored, and thoughtful medication management.

My Approach to Care

I believe effective care begins with open communication and mutual respect. Whether you are seeking help managing a longstanding diagnosis, navigating recovery, or looking for a clearer path forward with your mental health, my goal is to provide a clear, supportive environment where we work together toward stability and lasting quality of life. Let's have a chat

My approach to therapy

I believe real and effective treatment starts with getting to know who you are as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms or a diagnosis. Care with me is an ongoing conversation where nothing is off the table, and no single rigid model is forced on you. Because every individual is different, our approach is entirely customized to your unique life, goals, and needs.

What Sessions Look Like

  • Conversational & Grounded: We get to know each other through open, honest chats. It takes time to build genuine trust, so we take time and get real.
  • Humor & Connection: Mental healthcare can be heavy, but sessions don't have to feel clinical or stiff. We use humor, keep things human, and connect as real people.
  • Evolving Treatment: As you grow and your life changes, your treatment plan evolves right along with you. We continually assess what is working and adjust as needed.
  • Comprehensive Exploration: Whether exploring medication management, lifestyle adjustments, or navigating complex mental health and addiction challenges, every tool and strategy remains open for discussion to find what brings you lasting stability.

What you can expect from me

Your initial visit is focused on giving you the floor. I believe providers learn far more by listening than by rushing through a rigid checklist, so we begin by giving you space to share what is on your mind and what brought you in.

How We Work Together from Day One

  • The "Open Mic" Approach: You lead the conversation. You don't need to have all the right words or a specific diagnosis in mind—we uncover the details thru conversation.
  • Focusing on Immediate Relief: We prioritize targeting and treating your immediate symptoms right away to help you get relief, even if we are still working to pin down a final diagnostic picture.
  • Guided Conversation: If you don't know where to start or feel stuck, don't worry I have loads to ask to help us explore what you are experiencing.
  • Building Your Foundation: Together, we lay out all available treatment options, address your immediate concerns, and map out an initial plan designed to evolve as we continue to work together.
