"With over 20 years of experience, I help children and teens build emotional resilience, confidence, and healthy coping skills."
My approach is warm, supportive, and strengths-based. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist, I use play therapy and developmentally appropriate activities such as games, storytelling, and creative expression to help children communicate their feelings and develop healthy coping skills. I often support children and teens experiencing anxiety, big emotions, school stress, behavioral challenges, and difficulties with friendships or self-confidence. I also collaborate with parents to share insights and practical strategies that support their child’s progress at home and school.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable connection. I typically start by speaking with parents or caregivers to understand their child’s strengths, concerns, and goals for therapy. Children and teens are also given time to meet me and begin feeling comfortable through conversation or age-appropriate activities. There is no pressure to share everything right away—building trust and helping them feel safe is an important first step. By the end of the session, we will discuss next steps and how we can work together to support your child’s emotional growth.
