Great to meet you!

Aloha, I’m Dr. Rose Evelyn Friedheim, a licensed clinical psychologist, disability advocate, and lifelong resident of Oʻahu.

I offer compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for infants, young keiki, and their caregivers, honoring each ohana's story with curiosity, warmth, and cultural humility.

I am currently completing advanced training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) through the University of California, San Francisco, and Association for Infant Mental Health I work closely with caregivers of infants and young children who have experienced trauma, offering a deeply relational, evidence-based approach to healing that centers safety, connection, and shared meaning.

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in the belief that healing happens through relationships—within families, communities, and with the natural world. I blend attachment-based, family systems therapy with nature-informed and somatic practices to support emotional regulation, connection, and resilience. Whether we meet in person or virtually, my goal is to create a safe, empowering space where you and your keiki can reconnect to your strengths and grow together.

I am passionate about making mental health care more accessible for all, especially for keiki and ohanas navigating disability, trauma, or systemic barriers. I also love partnering with caregivers to build understanding, reduce overwhelm, and nurture joy in the parent-child relationship.

What you can expect from me

Common goals I support in therapy include:

  • Strengthening the attachment relationship between caregiver and keiki
  • Supporting emotion regulation, safety, and trust after trauma
  • Promoting developmental growth and communication
  • Reducing caregiver stress and enhancing confidence
  • Creating space for families to feel empowered, grounded, and connected

If you’re a caregiver seeking relationship-centered support for your keiki and yourself, I’d be honored to partner with you. I strive to make therapy accessible, inclusive, and responsive to your ohana’s unique needs—recognizing that healing looks different for everyone. Please reach out to schedule a free consultation and explore whether this approach feels like a good fit for your ohana.
