Great to meet you!

Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of clinical experience. I specialize in treating adults with anxiety and depression, and mild eating disorders. Additional areas include exploring ways to manage attention-deficit issues and supporting clients through life transitions. My clinical experience includes group practice, medical social work, crisis intervention, employee assistance, management consultation, and community mental health.

My approach to treatment is collaborative, trauma-informed, supportive yet practical. We'll explore the problems you're dealing with, how you currently manage, and explore steps towards making a change, at your own pace.

I am trained in CBT, ACT, DBT, MI and may offer intuitive eating strategies and information on diet culture if it's relevant to what you're seeking care for. I aim to be non-judgmental and support you "tapping in" to what you know is true about yourself, that may be covered by self-doubt, trauma, or habitual behaviors. I aim to offer evidence-based strategies and information to help you address the concerns you're seeking professional support for, along with offering an alternate perspective.

My approach to therapy

I take an integrative approach to treatment. CBT is the idea that thoughts impact behaviors and emotions, behaviors impact emotions and thoughts, and emotions impact behaviors and thoughts. I may offer emotional regulation techniques from DBT, help you identify what you want and value and how to take action to get what you want using ACT-based techniques, and support you in resolving ambiguity about change using motivational interviewing approaches. I believe that health comes in a variety of sizes and shapes, and can offer nutrition information, and support folks in challenging “diet culture rules." I am a certified mental health and nutrition specialist.

What you can expect from me

In an intake appointment (the first session), I will ask questions to better understand your concerns for seeking therapeutic support. We’ll explore how you're currently coping and what support might look like for you. I'll start getting to know you and gather some history. I may ask if there's anything you'd like to leave with, that you didn't come in with today. You can expect non-judgment, inquisitiveness, and honesty, to start helping you manage the concerns that brought you to therapy.
