Rossana Magalhaes

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from UNC-G as well as a B.A. degree in Education and Student Orientation from a university in Brazil. I offer direct counseling to individuals, couples, and families. I also offer meditation to groups and individuals. I am a strong believer that you already have the internal resources to live in wellness and sometimes, it is necessary to uncover those resources through counseling and awareness.

My special interests include couples counseling, family counseling, relationship concerns, developmental transitions, adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, spirituality, career issues, attachment, and self-esteem difficulties. I am a strong believer that we already have the internal resources to live in wellness and sometimes, it is necessary to uncover those resources through counseling and awareness.

My approach is getting close to clients as they build greater intimacy with their inner world. I am warm and curious. I believe that the best therapy is the one that is focused on the client and the present-moment experience.

Clients can expect to be invited to identify the roadblocks to a better life and to be gently held as they work in transforming the roadblocks.
