I consider myself approachable, open, knowledgeable, and good at what I do. However, I am humble enough to recognize that I do not know everything there is to know about psychology. I want to learn as much as possible about my clients in order to provide the best care for them.
Since everyone is different, I cater my approach to therapy based on a balance between what clients want and what I assess to be the best treatment to assist them in reaching their goals.
I will ask many questions! Those questions will help me to learn about what brings a client to therapy and what s/he hopes to accomplish by the end of therapy. I ask about a client's history. I also invite the client to ask me any questions that s/he may have.
