I am passionate about mental health, trauma work and advocacy. I place emphasis and importance on the awareness of how intersectionality impacts individuals within the work that I do, and my overall goal is to provide greater access to care for all people.

I have been in the field of Social Work for over 10 years with a variety of ages and diagnoses. I began my career as a victim advocate - working to help trauma and crime victims to navigate complicated systems while directly beginning to process the traumatic events they experienced. I also have experience ranging from community mental health and inpatient detox and psychiatric care.

My goal is to work alongside my clients to find what goals and methods lead to their own best personal outcomes.

My approach to therapy

I strive to maintain an anti-oppressive lens and an empathetic approach, with the understanding that an individual’s wellbeing can be - and often is - significantly impacted by larger societal and socioeconomic events.

My approach is rapport based, however I tend to be straightforward and enjoy challenging my clients to dismantle negative self-beliefs and cognitive distortions.

I find it important to challenge social norms that have lead a person to negative self-beliefs and other patterns of thinking that are often detrimental to one’s mental wellbeing.

What you can expect from me

During our first session we will establish goals while I obtain background information that will be relevant to the therapeutic care you are seeking.

I approach all of my client sessions with an open-minded, kind and compassionate lens while utilizing a straightforward demeanor.

My goal for all of my clients is to help them grow in ways they may have thought were never possible before.
