Great to meet you!

Hello, I am Sanayah Marriott, a licensed clinical

social worker in CA and HI. I work with adults

navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem,

and substance use, including people who have

been through therapy before and want it to feel

different this time. I am fluent in English and

Haitian Creole. I am also a Certified Alcohol and

Drug Counselor-II with 10 years of extensive

experience in addiction treatment settings and 20

years of military experience, so service life and the

transition back to civilian routines are familiar

ground for me. I am thrilled that you have chosen

to embark on a journey towards personal growth

and self-care.

My approach to therapy

I advocate for self-exploration, self-acceptance, and

self-actualization to assist clients in gaining insights

into their inner selves, improving self-awareness,

and achieving fulfillment. In practice, that means

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for the thought

patterns that keep anxiety and low self-esteem in

place, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for

managing intense emotions, and Motivational

Interviewing when you're weighing a change you're

not sure you're ready for. I also use Acceptance and

Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused

Brief Therapy (SFBT) when shorter, goal-directed

work fits better.

What you can expect from me

I look forward to our first meeting to build a meaningful connection and understand each other. The intake process includes up to two sessions to explore your therapy needs and gain insight into your life journey. My goal is to help you manage anxiety, depression, and self-esteem and improve communication and boundary-setting skills. I'm committed to working hard to assist you, even if it means finding resources or referrals for you.
