I specialize in working with survivors of psychological, emotional, verbal, or physical abuse, narcissistic abuse, and domestic violence. I also provide individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, infertility and perinatal mood disorders, with the tools they need to shift from survival to true healing.
As a Pakistani-American Muslim, I am particularlyy passionate about serving BIPOC, immigrant populations, and second-generation American individuals, couples, and adolescents. I earned my M.A in Counseling from Northwestern University in 2020, and am currently a doctoral student in the Counseling Education and Supervision program at University of the Cumberlands.
My approach to counseling blends my psychodynamic training with CBT, EMDR, and Brainspotting to effectively treat trauma and PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Together, we look at your early life experiences and relationships to understand how they shaped 'you,' and then use those insights to help you grow into your most empowered, authentic self.
During the first session, we focus on getting to know one another and getting comfortable. I will ask you specific questions about your history- to get a sense of who you are, what you've experienced, and what brings you to counseling. We will also discuss resources and how to connect with me between sessions to ensure your care remains prioritized.
