Great to meet you!

Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage, and I’m glad you’re here. Finding the right therapist—someone you feel comfortable with and who understands your unique needs—is an important part of the process.

I’m a board-certified clinical social worker with more than 40 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families in educational and mental health settings. Over the years, I’ve learned that meaningful change begins with feeling heard, respected, and accepted.

I specialize in trauma treatment, parenting support, behavioral management, and developing healthy coping and emotional regulation skills. My approach is compassionate, practical, and individualized. Together, we can build on your strengths, work through challenges, and develop tools to help you feel more confident and in control of your life.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Therapy is a place to begin, one step at a time.

My approach to therapy

The way we experience life is deeply influenced by how our brains receive, process, and make sense of information. I believe that understanding ourselves more fully can be an important part of creating meaningful change.

I enjoy helping clients understand the “why” behind their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, sharing as much—or as little—information as feels helpful to you. My goal is to make therapy practical, relevant, and personalized.

I also bring more than four decades of experience practicing and teaching mindfulness and meditation. I tailor these techniques to each individual, because the most effective tools are the ones that fit naturally into your life and that you will actually use.

Most importantly, your goals guide our work together. I draw on empathy, intuition, clinical knowledge, and life experience to meet you where you are, help you discover your strengths, and support you in creating the changes you want to make.

What you can expect from me

If you’ve completed your forms before our first session, we’ll begin by briefly reviewing the information together so I can better understand your history, your current concerns, and what brings you to therapy.

From there, you’ll have the opportunity to talk and share at your own pace. I’ll provide information and guidance based on your interests and needs, and together we’ll identify your personal goals for therapy.

My hope is that you’ll leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together.

If you have not completed your forms, this process will likely require 2 sessions.
