Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Sara, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 17 years of experience helping people navigate life’s most difficult and transformative seasons. My background includes extensive work with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, self-esteem, major life transitions, and the unique experiences of military members, veterans, and their families. I also specialize in religious trauma, faith transitions, and recovery from high-control relationships or environments. My goal is to provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported as we work toward meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized—I believe you are the expert on your own life, while my role is to help you better understand the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. I draw from evidence-based approaches while also recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I balance compassion and validation with thoughtful questions and gentle challenges that encourage deeper insight and meaningful change. Above all, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can show up authentically, without judgment, and feel genuinely understood.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you as a person—not simply a diagnosis or a list of symptoms—and to understand what brought you to therapy at this point in your life. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, the important parts of your story, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. There is no expectation that you share everything at once; we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you. By the end of our first few sessions, we’ll begin developing clear, meaningful goals and a treatment approach tailored specifically to you.
