Great to meet you!

This is an opportunity for you to know a bit about me before we meet for our first session. Here is what I think you might want to know: I am an approachable and kind professional with over 25 years’ experience. I specialize in evidence-based individual, couples, and family therapy. I have a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and am committed to helping clients navigate life transitions, anxiety, depression, and relational challenges.

My clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic principles. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space for disclosure and healing. I believe in meeting clients where they are, empowering them to build resilience, and fostering meaningful, long-term personal growth.

What kinds of clients I helped over the years: I have helped clients who are struggling with life changes, depression and anxiety, family issues, separation and divorce, and those that feel stuck in their current situation. I have experience working in outpatient, home- and community-based services, and crisis work. I am committed to supporting individuals with diverse background across the lifespan.

I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and addiction as presenting problems. I am always learning and growing in my practice.

The specific methods and modalities that I consistently use include solution-focused, strength-based, cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, and somatic treatment. Helping clients focus on relaxation, basic biofeedback, and self-care are also integral parts to the therapeutic process. I will explain the methods in our sessions more in detail so you feel comfortable.

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a collaborative journey between the client and the therapist. I also am committed to establishing a therapeutic alliance which means that the quality of the relationship is built on trust, safety, and respect. I find it also very important to approach the therapeutic process by encouraging clients to focus on self-awareness, personal growth, and openness to feedback. I have been a therapist for over 25 years and am experienced working across the life span. I have specialized in depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment disorders, couples and family conflicts, and addiction as some of the most often occurring problems. I am always learning and growing in my practice.

What you can expect from me

Our first session together will focus on the following:

· What brings you into therapy: Discussing what prompted you to seek therapy right now, such as anxiety, stress, relationship troubles, or feeling stuck.

· Biopsychosocial History: An interview covering your background, including current symptoms, medical or mental health history, family background, substance use, and past therapy experiences.

· Safety and Risk Assessment: Asking brief questions to ensure your immediate physical and emotional safety.

· Initial Goals and Hopes: Beginning to outline what you want to achieve through counseling, whether short-term relief or long-term growth.

· My Approach: I explain my therapeutic style and make sure to give you plenty of time to ask questions to see if it is a good fit.
