Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Sarah. I have been practicing as a licensed clinical social worker for seven years. I am trained in EMDR and other trauma-informed modalities and support my clients using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems and Psychodynamic Therapy - an approach that can facilitate deep acceptance and empowerment in our lives.

In my prior professional life, I was an organizer for women's health and environmental issues. I am still an activist at heart and am passionate about community building that centers on justice, equity and diversity.

My approach to therapy

I approach my work with clients with warmth, humor, an open mind, and a deep commitment to building safety and trust. I specialize in working with clients recovering from trauma, whether recent or long ago — including childhood emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, healing anxiety and depression, restoring emotional regulation and self-esteem, as well as creating healthy and satisfying intimate relationships.

What you can expect from me

You can expect our first session to be a time for us to start building trust in our shared therapeutic space. I will listen with empathy and non-judgement to why you are coming to therapy for the first time or are returning. In this session I hope for you to get a sense of who I am and for you to feel heard and understood.
