Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) in North Carolina and Virginia with a PhD in counseling. I also completed 2 years in medical school (Long Story). I have practiced social work over the course of 20 years throughout the world and in every realm of the profession possible.

My approach to therapy

My approach is mostly based in client-centered methods and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with branches like DBT (certified). Occasionally, I also use internal family systems methods as well.

I believe that everyone brings a unique set of skills to the table; none more or less important. So, you bring your skills and I bring mine, and together we run a 3-legged race towards the goals we set as a team.

What you can expect from me

I pride myself on being approachable, somewhat direct, and transparent. We work as a team to tailor sessions that meet your unique needs. Therapy is not about changing who you are, it is about adapting what is no longer working for you in a way that becomes more productive and sustainable for you in your future.

Along the way, you will be encouraged to do homework in between sessions to help you reflect on the concepts we speak about and think of ways to apply them in your own life.
