Great to meet you!

I have experienced many roles as I begin to edge out of "middle age" (daughter, sister, student, employee, spouse, parent, pet owner, friend, grieving family member, congregant, team player, book-clubber, yogi, etc.), I am more connected than ever to what is important in life and what is true for most people and communities. We work hard, we try to create relationships and joy, we need to play & create, and most of us need some sense of love & belonging, along with a sense of purpose. It is an honor to journey with clients.

My approach to therapy

I believe that we are all born with the innate ability to love and be loved, through which the experience of safety arises. Most of us have that sense of safety challenged at some point. Together we will work to understand when and how "the carpet got pulled out from underneath you (or your child/youth)", and what you are needing to get back on track (or if a new path needs to be created).

My interest in child development and attachment, and our own personal neurobiology, along with what happens when we experience trauma, drives my work. I am EMDR trained, along with Family systems and Narrative therapy, and am strengths-based in my stance.

What you can expect from me

Creating an experience of feeling seen & understood is my initial goal. Within that understanding, hope is ideally created, through our collaboration on what seems useful to gain from our time together. A new felt perspective that allows for more energy, more connection with your truth and your true, less encumbered self, and then more ability to experience joy within self and with the rest of life. If helping children, I hope to support parents in their journey (and return joy to the job!).
