Great to meet you!

I have been a therapist for about 10 years and I've worked in many settings! I went to school in Kalamazoo, MI and graduated in 2012. I like working with people who have not found therapy helpful in the past - I like figuring out why it didn't work well and how to make it work better this time.

I particularly enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ world, non-monogamous folks and families, families navigating a loved one's mental health or substance use challenges, and parents and children of any age.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I will take the lead in getting to know you. I'll ask about what typically works for you and doesn't work for you. I typically will ask a lot of questions and provide feedback on what I'm hearing. I have special training in biofeedback as well and these techniques can be used to help calm the body and reduce anxiety. I can adapt my approach as needed, but I will start out by taking the lead and asking a lot of questions

Ask me about biofeedback and neurofeedback as well!

What you can expect from our first session

You know the feeling when you had a good therapy session and you feel the messy parts of your brain sort of unraveling and then coming back together in a more organized way? That's the goal.

I want to create an open environment where you can play with ideas, say anything at all no matter how awkward or shameful, and get through it.
