Great to meet you!

I specialize in treating obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders, including complex OCD subtypes like HOCD, POCD, SO-OCD, and ROCD. I am a college professor in addition to having a private practice. I have trained hundreds of doctoral candidates in the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety and OCD.

I work with adults, teens, and college students experiencing panic attacks, generalized anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, and intrusive thoughts. I also treat related concerns like tics, insomnia, and anxiety related to tinnitus.

In addition to my clinical focus on OCD and anxiety, I frequently work with men at every stage of life on issues related to identity, career, and relationships. I have years of experience working with college students and with LGB people and their families.

My approach to therapy

I use behavioral and values-focused therapies like ERP, CBT, and ACT. These types of therapy focus on practical change based on your values and goals. My style is warm and encouraging. I very frequently work with clients for whom previous therapy has not been effective.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I’ll take time to really understand your story - what matters most to you, how anxiety or OCD are affecting your daily life, and what your version of a “best life” looks like. That becomes our roadmap. From there, we’ll tap into your core values and existing strengths to collaborate on a practical, action-oriented plan for change and measure progress weekly as you move closer to the life you want to live.
