Great to meet you!
Hi, I'm Dr. Shamanda Burston, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist with more than 15 years of experience helping people navigate life's challenges. I work with adults, particularly high-achieving women and men who experience anxiety, shame, overwhelm, or emotional distress related to money.
You may be financially responsible yet constantly worry about not having enough. Perhaps you struggle with guilt when spending, feel overwhelmed by financial obligations, avoid looking at your finances, or believe you must always work harder to feel secure.
Together, we explore how past experiences, family patterns, perfectionism, and beliefs about financial security influence mental health and everyday decisions.
My approach combines evidence-based psychotherapy with an understanding of the emotional and relational aspects of money.
My goal is to help clients build greater emotional awareness, reduce distress, and develop healthier ways of responding to financial stress. In therapy, we explore how your experiences, beliefs, relationships, and emotional patterns influence your relationship with money and your overall well-being.
