Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Shannon, a California based MFT from the bay area and proud member of the LGBTQ community. I attended Sarah Lawrence College in New York and returned to California where I completed my master's degree in Feminist Clinical Psychology at New College in San Francisco while working in community mental health. I have over 28 years of experience working with people experiencing a combination of life transitions, mental health struggles and relationship challenges.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy as a partnership. I use an integrated approach in my practice to find strategies that best meet your needs including Mindfulness, Polyvagal informed work and neurologically informed CBT. I am a certified anxiety treatment specialist, certified ADHD specialist and trained EMDR practitioner. I frequently incorporate breath work and focus on the mind/body connection during sessions.

What you can expect from me

We will build on the most important aspects of the therapeutic relationship, connection and emotional safety. I will be your partner in identifying goals and priorities, utilizing methods to deepen self-understanding and ways in which you can discover what inspires you to enact change and live your best life now. My role as your therapist is to help you use your strengths and resilience in overcoming life’s challenges.
