Great to meet you!

I have been a practicing clinician since 2000 in various settings including ERs and schools doing crisis evaluations and counseling. I have worked with children through the geriatric population. My supportive and gentle approach creates a safe space to process difficult life experiences without fear of judgment. My undergraduate work was at Iowa State University in Child and Family Development. My graduate work was completed at the University of Missouri-Columbia in clinical social work.

My approach to therapy

I listen deeply, and whether my client is experiencing a difficult life transition, loss, depression, anxiety, or stress just managing the day to day of life, we can take the time to make things feel manageable and okay again.

What you can expect from me

I typically ask clients to share in goal setting so we can break down the steps towards getting to the goal together. I hope that clients take with them a renewed sense of resilience, an awareness of how their thoughts and behaviors impact their mood and vice versa so they can feel a sense of control over their emotions...versus their emotions controlling them.
