Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Shaqueal Stevens, LCSW-C, LICSW and I am pleased to guide you in the therapeutic process. I believe that no matter where we are in life regarding our past trauma or challenges, we can always work towards being our best selves. We are our greatest projects, and we owe it to ourselves to commit to our growth and success. Here, at Project: Committed to Me, I help you do just that.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in treating children and adolescents for various diagnoses & troubling areas. Examples include LGBTQ+ identities, ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, social skills, self-esteem, etc. I have worked directly with youth & young adults for over 9 years. I empower clients to be the director of our sessions. Through trauma-informed care, I provide a non-judgmental space and a nurturing, safe, and comfortable environment.

What you can expect from me

Whether my client is having difficulty in primary school or as a young adult, my approach towards the client is tailored to meet specific needs. Each session involves the client checking in with self and participating in an activity that leads towards goal mastery. While learning new concepts and strategies, clients will be embraced with compassion and grace and encouraged to apply what is learned to life outside of therapy.
