Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Rae. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey, Delaware, and Florida, a certified clinical trauma professional, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. Before I became a therapist, I spent over a decade in the corporate healthcare world. I know what it’s like to look successful on paper and still feel stretched thin, stuck, or quietly unsure who you are underneath all the responsibility.

Since 2019, I’ve worked across hospital crisis settings, outpatient therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and clinical leadership. That range shapes how I work. I’m steady in hard moments, and I’m practical about real life.

I especially enjoy working with adults who are:

  • Burned out, overwhelmed, or running on empty
  • Navigating a career change, life transition, or identity shift
  • Living with anxiety, stress, or chronic people-pleasing
  • Processing trauma, grief, or loss
  • High-functioning helpers and professionals who are used to taking care of everyone but themselves

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and a B.A. in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College. If you’re tired of holding it all together alone, I’d love to help you set some of it down.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I’m not the therapist who nods silently for 50 minutes. I’ll listen closely, ask real questions, and tell you honestly what I’m noticing, always with care.

I’m trauma-informed, which means we go at a pace that feels safe for you, and you stay in control of what we explore. I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based and solution-focused work. I tailor them to you instead of forcing you into a model.

We’ll work on two levels. One is understanding why you feel and react the way you do. The other is building practical tools you can use between sessions. Insight matters, but so does Tuesday afternoon when everything is happening at once.

Above all, this is your space. You don’t have to show up polished or have the right words. You just have to show up.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other, with no pressure to share everything at once. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what’s been feeling heavy, and what you’d like to be different. I’ll ask about your background, your current stressors, and what has or hasn’t helped before.

We’ll also go over the practical pieces: confidentiality, scheduling, and how our sessions will work. You’re welcome to ask me anything about my approach, my experience, or what therapy with me looks like.

By the end, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard and a little lighter, with a clearer sense of where we might go from here. It’s also a chance for you to decide whether I’m the right fit, because that connection matters. Many people feel nervous before a first session. That’s completely normal, and we’ll take it one step at a time.
