Welcome! I look forward to working with you! I have extensive experience in trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD/ADD, problem gambling, adoptions, school and work-related issues, and others. My background and training were completed through the University of Maryland (College Park), the University of Maryland at Baltimore, Howard University, and the University of Maryland School of Medicine, as well as a current program through George Washington University.
My approach is eclectic. Each of us comes from different backgrounds, experiences, family and social environments, and genetics. We might have the same "issues" but we are not all the same in how we respond to different situations. So, I believe it's so important to look at all of these factors, to gain a sense of who you are and what has led to the issues that bring you to therapy/counseling.
I often tell my clients, "this is about you-not me." Your decision to come to therapy/counseling is based on YOUR agenda-not mine. My goal is to help you find your way, not to decide it for you or tell you what to do. Only YOU can determine your path.
