Great to meet you!

I have experiences that include 20+ years of helping others in their difficult times. I am happy to work with adolescents, adults, and divorce/blended families to navigate through their personal struggles. I have extensive skills in addiction recovery with both clients as well as their family members. I also work with families in conflict due to divorce/blended family dynamics, co-dependency, boundary setting, reducing stress/anxiety symptoms, rebuilding self esteem, and finding mutual compromise in relationships, especially those who are in divorce and blended families.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and her Masters of Education with Emphasis on Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. I received clinical experience working in a Work Ethic Camp, Substance Abuse Treatment Center, and a Juvenile Justice Center. I have experience providing therapy to adolescents and adults in individual, family, and group settings.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, a licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (IMHP) in the state of Nebraska, and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have credentials as a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, Certified Mediator/Dispute Resolution professional, Certified Parent Facilitator, Reunification Therapist, I and trained in TAP as a Substance Abuse Treatment Counselor and in reprocessing the traumatic experiences in the brain using EMDR which is a technique to help treat mental health conditions that can happen due to memories from traumatic events.

My approach to therapy

I am of the belief that it takes a great deal of courage to reach out to others for assistance. My style of therapy involves helping clients find the origin of how beliefs were developed by providing a safe environment where struggles can be shared, challenges overcome, and courage can be rebuilt with support of empowerment and accountability. I utilize a Person Centered Approach meaning you are in charge to keep you comfortable and help reprocess your journey at your speed while focusing on empowerment and creating change with a personalized treatment plan. I often use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to help you challenge the thinking processes and manage emotions. I also can incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy if that is your need and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to facilitate reprocessing the experience to overcome personal traumatic events.
