Great to meet you!

I’m Shelley Milliard, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping children, teens, and young adults achieve their mental health goals. With over 15 years of experience in healthcare and a strong background in mental health, I provide compassionate, evidence-based medication management and supportive care.

I believe in partnering with patients and families to create personalized treatment plans that empower individuals to thrive. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where every client feels heard, respected, and supported on their journey toward wellness.

My approach to therapy

I believe that effective mental health care begins with truly listening. Every child, teen, and family has a unique story, and I take the time to understand each individual’s experiences, strengths, and challenges. My approach combines evidence-based practices with a compassionate, personalized touch to create treatment plans that meet each client’s specific needs.

Collaboration is at the heart of my practice—I partner closely with patients and families to ensure that care feels supportive, empowering, and goal-oriented. Whether it’s managing symptoms, improving daily functioning, or building resilience, my goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where growth and healing can happen.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is all about getting to know you (and your child, if applicable). We’ll take time to discuss your concerns, medical and mental health history, current symptoms, and any goals you’d like to achieve through treatment. This visit usually lasts a bit longer than follow-ups so we can gather a full picture of your needs.

You can expect:

A safe, welcoming environment where you and your family feel comfortable sharing.

A thorough evaluation of medical, psychiatric, and social history.

An open conversation about your concerns, questions, and treatment goals.

Discussion of potential treatment options, including medication management and supportive care strategies.

By the end of the first visit, we’ll work together to create a personalized plan that fits your unique needs and sets the foundation for ongoing care.
