Great to meet you!

Nice to meet you! I'm Dr. Shevan Wilks, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 8 years of advanced practice experience. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, panic attacks, trauma-related symptoms, and other mental health concerns.

I know that reaching out for psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, so I strive to make the process comfortable, collaborative, and judgment-free. My goal is to understand not only your symptoms, but how they are affecting your everyday life, relationships, work, and overall well-being.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management while working with you to create an individualized treatment plan that fits your needs, preferences, and goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and individualized. I take time to understand your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current stressors, lifestyle, and treatment goals before making recommendations.

When medication is appropriate, I'll explain your options, expected benefits, possible side effects, and alternatives so that we can make treatment decisions together. I also incorporate supportive therapy and evidence-based strategies to help you build skills that support your progress beyond medication alone.

I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in your care.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what has been bringing you to care. We'll discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatments, medications, sleep, daily functioning, and what you hope to improve.

We'll then talk through my clinical recommendations and, when appropriate, medication options. I encourage questions and want you to understand the reasoning behind your treatment plan.

You can expect a supportive, judgment-free conversation and to leave the appointment with a clearer understanding of your symptoms and the next steps in your care.
