My name is Sierra Patterson, my pronouns are she/they. I am a Black American therapist in their 30s based in Baltimore, MD, who received their master's degree from Johns Hopkins University, School of Education. I specialize in depression and anxiety and am learning more about trauma-informed care, LGBTQ+ issues, and neurodiversity affirming approaches.
I am a person-centered therapist, and I very much allow my clients to lead the session. I tend to focus on cognitive behavioral treatment methods and believe that changing the way we think about our situations can ultimately impact how we feel. However, I also approach therapy from a feminist lens, meaning that I take into consideration the very real environmental and societal forces that may impact your mental health.
My ultimate goal as a therapist is to be someone who can let you feel heard and understood.
