Great to meet you!

I am a Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and Delaware. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I have a Doctorate (PhD) in Psychology and a Masters Degree (M.A.) in Counseling Psychology. From time to time, I also serve as a part time Professor (psychology) at various colleges.

I chose to become a mental health professional, because I felt there was a need for a therapy approach to remedy conventional methods. Although I use some integrated conventional approaches, I also utilize other evidence-based techniques to alleviate symptomatology. Thus, I believe in a wholistic approach and see individuals as parts of a larger whole.

My approach to therapy

I believe life is a learning experience and we can all learn to live a better life by detaching from unnecessary suffering. Much suffering stems from unconscious or conscious memory traces that can be either extinguished or reprocessed so that they no longer trigger unnecessary emotional responses. To do this I use eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) including IFS integration as well as other therapeutic approaches. I like to work with adults, adolescents, couples, and/or families in individual, family, and group settings using tele-therapy to improve functioning, alleviating behavioral problems, and/or mental/emotional difficulties.

What you can expect from me

Although individual clients differ, clients typically see improvement in their symptoms within a few weeks of therapy, and significant improvement if the process is completed.

Thus, I use psychotherapy in treating anxiety spectrum and depressive symptoms in diverse populations, including individuals, couples, and families, where everyone can benefit from therapy.
