Great to meet you!

People often come to me feeling worn down—by anxiety that never fully shuts off, relationships that feel tense or confusing, or a sense that they’ve been “holding it together” for a long time without real relief. Therapy with me is focused on slowing things down, making sense of patterns, and building steadier ways of responding rather than constantly reacting.

I work with couples, adults, teens, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, relationship strain, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful and capable, yet feel stuck, emotionally exhausted, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating despite insight and effort.

My approach is practical, collaborative, and direct. I draw from CBT, DBT, and acceptance-based strategies, adapting the work to fit the person rather than forcing a rigid framework. Sessions often focus on emotional regulation, boundaries, communication, and helping clients develop a clearer internal compass for decision-making.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience in mental health and education. I hold master’s degrees in Psychology and Counseling and am currently completing a PhD in Psychology. Earlier work as a school counselor continues to inform my understanding of development, family systems, and long-term stress.

The goal of therapy in my practice is greater clarity, stability, and the ability to move through life with more intention and calmness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is calm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative approaches, and person-centered therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs, goals, and lived experience.

I focus on helping clients understand patterns that contribute to distress, build emotional regulation skills, improve communication, and develop practical tools they can use outside of sessions. I view therapy as a flexible process rather than a rigid formula, adjusting my approach as clients grow and their needs evolve.

Above all, I believe that trust, consistency, and authenticity within the therapeutic relationship are central to meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a supportive, structured, and welcoming conversation. We will focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and what has or has not been helpful in the past. I ask questions to gather relevant background while allowing space for clients to share at their own pace.

We will begin identifying goals and areas of focus, and I will explain how therapy can support those goals moving forward. Clients do not need to have everything figured out before the first session—my role is to help organize concerns and begin creating a clear, manageable path forward.

My goal for the first session is for clients to leave feeling heard, grounded, and confident that therapy can be a collaborative and supportive process.
