Great to meet you!

With more than 30 years of nursing experience, I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to providing compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based mental health care.

My educational journey includes training as an Army Medic; nursing degrees from Northern Maine Community College; a BSN and an MSN from Chamberlain University; a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst; and PMHNP certification from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. I have also completed advanced education in Functional Medicine from the Institute for Functional Medicine and will be sitting for my boards this Fall. I am dedicated to integrating whole-person care into my practice.

I believe healing begins with feeling heard. My approach combines psychiatric evaluation, medication management with supportive therapy, and holistic strategies to help individuals achieve lasting emotional wellness. I have a special passion for caring for veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, individuals recovering from trauma, women experiencing reproductive and maternal mental health concerns, and those navigating health-related anxiety. My mission is to provide a safe, compassionate space where every patient feels empowered, supported, and hopeful on their journey toward healing.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is rooted in partnership, compassion, and respect. I never want my clients to feel pressured or judged. Instead, I believe that healing is most successful when we work together as a team, with you at the center of every decision.

My role is to provide guidance, education, evidence-based treatment options, and unwavering support while honoring your goals, values, and preferences.

I intentionally maintain a small caseload of clients so I can dedicate the time each person deserves. I believe quality mental health care should never feel rushed. Every individual has a unique story, and I strive to provide personalized, holistic care that is tailored to your specific needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

One of the guiding principles of my practice is, "Assuming ceases caring." I never make assumptions about your experiences, your goals, or what is best for you. Instead, I listen with curiosity, compassion, and an open mind.

Caring is at the heart of everything I do, and my commitment is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout your journey toward healing.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is scheduled for two hours to ensure we have the time to truly get to know one another without feeling rushed.

During the first hour, I will ask detailed questions about your medical history, mental health concerns, current symptoms, lifestyle, past treatments, strengths, and the experiences that have shaped your journey. This comprehensive assessment helps me understand you as a whole person—not just your diagnosis.

The second hour is dedicated to you. This is your opportunity to share your story, discuss your goals, express your concerns, ask questions, and talk about what you hope to achieve through treatment. Together, we will review any diagnoses, explore treatment options, and develop a personalized care plan that reflects your values, preferences, and goals.

While the second hour may not always be needed in its entirety, that time is intentionally reserved so you never feel rushed or unheard. My clients are the center of my practice.

Follow-up appointments are scheduled for one hour to provide ample time for meaningful conversations, medication management and supportive therapy, education, and ongoing support.

Depending on your needs, follow-up visits may last anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour. My goal is to ensure that every appointment provides the time and space you need to feel heard, supported, and actively involved in your care.
