Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 20 years of experience in psychiatry and 4 years in advanced practice. As the owner and operator of JCP Global Health, including Courage Behavioral Health Care Services, LLC, I provide comprehensive psychiatric care across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia through in-person and telehealth services. My background spans hospital, outpatient, community-based, and virtual care settings, allowing me to support a diverse range of clients. I specialize in diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. I am deeply committed to increasing access to quality mental health care and creating a supportive, collaborative environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped to achieve lasting wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is holistic, collaborative, and patient-centered. I believe in treating the whole person, not just symptoms, by considering each client’s emotional, physical, and social well-being. I work closely with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that may include comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy. My style is warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental, creating a safe space where clients feel heard and understood.

With experience across hospital, outpatient, community, and telehealth settings, I am comfortable working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I have a strong focus on conditions such as ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, and behavioral challenges, and I incorporate evidence-based practices into care. I also prioritize education and empowerment, helping clients better understand their mental health and actively participate in their treatment. My goal is to build a trusting partnership that supports long-term stability, resilience, and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they feel comfortable sharing their concerns and goals. I begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to better understand each client’s history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and any previous treatment experiences. This initial visit is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions and share what they hope to gain from care.

Together, we will identify key concerns and begin developing a personalized treatment plan, which may include therapy, medication management, or a combination of both. My goal is to ensure clients leave the session feeling heard, understood, and with a clear sense of direction. I strive to create a collaborative partnership where clients feel empowered and actively involved in their care from the very beginning.
