Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Stephanie Koslowski, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota. I bring a lifetime of experience and wisdom to my work and have been counseling people for many years. I have extensive experience serving diverse populations and working with clients from a wide range of cultural, religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including Native American, African American, Asian, and Latino communities.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, relationship concerns, substance use, and other difficult life experiences. My clinical training included a strong focus on trauma treatment and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and my background includes work in domestic violence services, community mental health, and other social service settings. These experiences have shaped my belief that every person deserves to feel respected, understood, and supported in therapy.

My approach to therapy

I believe trust is one of the most important parts of the therapeutic relationship. Before meaningful change can happen, you need to feel comfortable enough to be honest about what you're experiencing without worrying that you'll be judged. My first priority is creating that kind of relationship with you.

My approach is warm, open-minded, and solution-oriented. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused approaches while tailoring our work to your individual experiences, needs, and goals. Together, we may work on understanding patterns, processing difficult experiences, managing anxiety or depression, navigating grief or relationships, and developing healthier ways to cope with life's challenges. I'll meet you where you are while helping you identify practical steps toward where you'd like to be.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you need before we begin. We'll talk about what's been happening, what's most important to you right now, and what you hope will be different.

You can expect me to listen, not simply sit and talk about myself. I'll be present, ask thoughtful questions, and give you space to share your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable. My goal is for you to feel heard and respected while also gaining greater insight, practical coping skills, and confidence in your ability to move forward.
