Great to meet you!

I'm Steve, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor serving clients throughout Virginia and North Carolina through telehealth. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship struggles, and the challenges of making lasting change.

I've overcome addiction and walked through some dark seasons of my own. I understand how hard life can get, but I also know things can get better. Reaching out for help isn't always easy, but you don't have to figure everything out on your own. We'll work together to better understand what's going on, develop practical tools to move forward, and build on the strengths you already have.

My approach to therapy

My approach depends on where you are and what you need. Sometimes that means learning how to stop fighting every difficult thought or feeling and start responding to them differently. Sometimes it means figuring out what you really want to change and what’s been getting in the way.

For couples, I help you look beneath the arguments and frustration to understand what’s really going on between you, so you can begin moving toward each other instead of staying stuck in the same patterns.

When trauma is part of your story, we take things at a pace that feels safe and work through what happened without forcing you to go places you're not ready to go. And if you have something specific you want to work on, we can stay focused on that and look for practical steps forward.

If faith is important to you, that can also be part of our work.

I believe lasting change involves the whole person, and I'm comfortable bringing prayer, Scripture, and your relationship with God into counseling when that's something you want.

What you can expect from me

In our rst session, I'm not looking for a perfect summary of everything that's wrong. I'll ask what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping feels different soon, and we'll go from there. You don't need to have it all gured out before we talk. My goal is that you leave feeling genuinely heard, with a real sense of what working together could look like.
