Great to meet you!

My approach to therapy

The core of my approach to therapy is based on cognitive-behavioral theory (known as "CBT"). Simply explained, mood problems such as depression and anxiety are caused by harsh and self-defeating beliefs—such as "What if I fail," "People don't like me" or "My opinions don't matter."

I assist my client in examining, challenging, and changing these thoughts. When a client changes their thinking, they feel more confident in changing their behaviors and actions. As a result, their mood improves.

What you can expect from me

Initially, the focus is to help clients change their self-defeating beliefs. In CBT, these beliefs are referred to as "cognitive distortions.

Gradually, the focus of sessions becomes focused on teaching a client communication skills and developing new behaviors to use in day-to-day life.

Throughout the therapy process, I will recommend articles, books, podcasts, and video-streaming related to our therapy sessions.
