Great to meet you!

I'm Sumr — a licensed clinical social worker with five years of experience working with adolescents and adults across anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and the emotional weight of navigating cultural and family dynamics. My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and culturally grounded. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, and knowing that your background and lived experiences are understood and valued. I provide therapy in English and Urdu and work entirely via telehealth with clients throughout Maryland.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. My approach weaves together CBT, ACT, attachment-based work, and trauma-informed care. I take a collaborative and strengths-based approach, helping you better understand yourself, work through patterns that aren’t serving you, and build practical tools you can actually use outside of therapy. Sessions are conversational, real, and sometimes even a little funny.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other and talking about what brought you to therapy, your history, and what you’d like to get out of sessions. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. We’ll take it from there and see what feels most helpful for you.

I offer weekday appointments during the day and in the evening, so there are options for different schedules.
